Most tourists cluster around Albufeira and Vilamoura. Heading west of Lagos gets you wilder landscapes, emptier beaches, and restaurants that still cook for locals.
May–June and September–October offer warm weather without July–August peak crowds. The quinta is enjoyable year-round — winters are mild and Lagos stays lively.
Lagos Saturday market is excellent for local produce, cheese, and honey. A short walk from the waterfront — arrive by 9 am for the best selection.
